Rocket Science

So half the world is rather close compared to distant star
And love is love and love is good, can’t measure love by far
Now you and I are lovers but that love is not to be
You say you aren’t well placed for love, that’s not geography
My simple heart with love so pure it almost seems naive
Has heard in you an echo so I know that you believe
When holding you within my gaze my world felt tiny small
And what there is that is not us is not a world at all
For when our arms defined our world it never felt so right
A fool am I to let you go I should have held you tight
If half the world is far too far I’ll live in outer space
For if my life is without you my world’s a lonely place
Our failing love not blamed upon mundane geography
But science that is really hard and called astronomy
