Rise

Before the dawn so sacred see the light
A golden glow diffused behind the tree
And every single morn the god returns
A chorus for the rising deity
The velvet night wears only purple hue
Her mourning shroud cast off each day at dawn
The clouds in sky flamed colours of the sun
Does blood red orange pink the mortal warn
Each morning we are broken into life
Or do we turn to you to start the day
Though sun you are not god but simple star
One light within the dazzling Milky Way
The universe so vast this tiny place
Just spinning rock that’s lost in time and space
