Detritus

Detritus sits around me not yet gone
The remnants of a life past long ago
But soon my world will bear less heavy load
A venture into what I’m yet to know
This interlude in most attractive place
Hiatus gave me time to stop and breathe
As people slowly drifted to my shore
The friendships deepen even as I leave
Farewell to river misty morning hour
Your ebb and flow that slowed my spinning head
I walked your banks until the tide brought bliss
Reminded me I’m very far from dead
Oh Deben town a place where joy resides
I’ll be again the flotsam on your tides
