Sea of dreams

Imagine if you can the stars at night
Illumination from no other source
A myriad of tiny beams of light
Combined to show the universe’s force
Imagine if you can an ocean vast
Horizon far more distant without land
Perpetual the tide on which you’re cast
Your destiny in Mother Nature’s hand
The night I slept beneath the Milky Way
So many stars I sat and gazed with awe
The gentle ocean lulled me with its sway
Until my eyes could stay awake no more
My soul between the sky and sea becalmed
Serenity has held me in her arms
