Back

Observing you I wonder why you fail
To fall in love so often it’s bizarre
Romantic but those love affairs curtail
So few men are as gentle as you are
The best of friends you’ve always been to me
Epitome of kindness and of trust
Perhaps a lover not cut out to be
Though heaven knows I’ve seen how others lust
Perhaps you’re at your best with slight remove
The intimacy others crave you lack
With me you don’t have anything to prove
For you and I we have each other’s back
So fall in love and fail I’ll be around
Your friend will get your feet back on the ground
