Shadows

How long does someone have to be in love
Validity bestowed through measured time
No matter if your hand was in my glove
Kaleidoscopic universe aligned
So brief the nights of summer lost with you
Your searching eyes that stripped my body nude
Intense your gaze like moments from the blue
Each smile a rainbow on your face diffused
Our talk so deep as everything we said
Profoundly weighted by the flesh desired
The doomed divergence heart was left as lead
For fickle fates against our love conspired
The memories like shadows linger yet
They lengthen till summer sun has set
