Architect

To build a love has never been my thing
Still waiting for that special man I guess
And on my finger never worn a ring
For when they’ve wanted more I’ve given less
But you are not another pretty face
Although you’re very easy on my eye
Your inner steel supports a silky grace
A soaring mind that scrapes the morning sky
With you my love a blossom slowly grown
The sunlight in your smile unclouding doubt
An architect who wants for us a home
Will all my inner demons be cast out
A gentle strength that leaves me wanting more
Are you the lover I’ve been waiting for
