Without a King

So many things I do them on my own
Because you wouldn’t come along with me
A queen without a king was overthrown
That revolution somehow set me free
The world I live in now a far remove
Remember how we were before the change
Surprising I can take the rough and smooth
I thrive upon the new, bizarre and strange
I think of you; the us I left behind
My flight of fancy hope you can forgive
I never wanted things to be unkind
But now this is the life I want to live
Suppose it’s my apology to you
But to myself alone I must be true
