He Took Me

He took me to a place and called it safe
I lingered in his happy gentle smile
No longer need to stray I am not waif
For I can stay with him a little while
He took me and we made the time our own
The laughter that we shared I won’t forget
Imagine if that happiness was home
And I could live with him without regret
He took me from confusion into peace
Each step was gently guided by his care
The freedom that he offered was release
The honesty is everything we share
He took me and so carefully he’s shown
That love was something I had never known
