The Pretender

If I am half a man I wonder what’s the missing part

For if I am deemed incomplete I’ll want to know for why

Your allegation not the most sophisticated start

But conversation we will have; I’m man enough to try

Can I assume that you present yourself as what should be

A model rolled before me with its aspiration high

That brutish thuggish swagger is a masculinity?

It seems that you are throwing back and time has passed you by

For I have built a castle while you dwelt within that cave

Neanderthal your place is somewhere down around my feet

The simple Simon life it merely shows you are a knave

No threat in muscle when the mind is just some pounding meat

Fantastical creation with a gender mine to own

And I don’t gladly suffer fools denying me a throne
